The “Breakfast in Africa” mailer was designed to promote an exclusive event and sneak preview of the of The African Forest exhibit to the Houston Zoo members.

Blanco y Negro Gala

Center for Life Sciences Technology

Designed while at Minor Design

A variety of print collateral was designed to promote the Center for Life Sciences Technology at the University of Houston. The design elements mimic the structure of technology along with the cells of biology, thus a structured grid layout was implemented along with diagrams in shapes of “cells”. The collateral included a standards guide, poster, brochure and power point templates.

Constructing the Barb

The different ideals of human race is what sometimes makes the world a better place, yet those differences create fictional superiorities that in essence, construct an imaginary barb wire–a barrier between those with different thoughts and backgrounds.

Print collateral and signage were designed for an exhibit that took place in the School of Architecture at the University of Houston, celebrating the golden years of industrial design in the home. The colors and design resembled the design and colors during the 50-60s with a modern touch to it.

Go Paperless Mailer

Designed while at the Houston Zoo

The Membership department at the Houston Zoo needed a mailer designed that encouraged current members to go paperless. The design had an earth-like quality to it, using animals to encourage a positive impact of being environmentally friendly. This mailer was also printed on environmentally friendly paper.

Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Association

This association hosts an annual production of “Los Monólogos de la Vagina” (The Vagina Monologues) where proceeds benefited the V-Day Campaign, a global activist movement to stop violence against women and girls, and to support a local beneficiary La Rosa Family Services. To support the strong message about the production’s subject matter the vaginas, an edgy yet sophisticated approach was taken. The design for the production’s collateral was inspired by paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe, where the abstract flower with tones and hues of pink represented women, girls and the vagina.

Houston Zoo 2009 Education Poster

In 2009, the Education department at the Houston Zoo sent a poster and a letter promoting their educational programs and camps to teachers in the Houston Area Districts. This piece included information on a program at the Houston Zoo where Cheetahs and Dogs were in the same exhibit raised to be life long companions.

In 2010, the Education department at the Houston Zoo sent a poster and a bookmark promoting their educational programs and camps to teachers in the Houston Area Districts. This piece about the Toby the Red Panda at the Zoo, contained information on the species, its habitat and reasons why it has become endangered.

In 2011, the Education department at the Houston Zoo sent a calendar poster promoting their educational programs and camps to teachers in the Houston Area Districts. This piece introduced the new chimpanzee family at the African Forest exhibit, as well as served as an annual calendar.

Houston Zoo Membership Renewal

Designed while at the Houston Zoo

The membership renewal packed was redesigned to be consistent with the current branding of the Houston Zoo. The packet included 3 different sets along with their matching envelope.

Mazzei Wedding

A sophisticated, delicate and elegant print collateral was designed for the Mazzei wedding. The collateral included a monogram, program, invitation, menu, and place cards.

Rhino Poster

Designed while at the Houston Zoo

The Conservation department at the Houston Zoo needed a poster designed which educated people about the threats to the Black Rhino and the efforts made by the Zoo along with the International Rhino Foundation to reintroduce the Black Rhino to Botswana.

Spring Fling Zoobilee

The Membership department at the Houston Zoo has an annual membership appreciation party. The theme for the 2009 event was “Spring Fling”, the design incorporated photos of species in a loving way, displayed on a tree–referencing the creation of a family tree. A variety of print collateral and signage were made for this event.

Spring Safari Splash at Zoobilee

The Membership department at the Houston Zoo has an annual membership appreciation party. Each year there is a different theme–the design for the 2010 theme incorporated an illustrated lion as the icon of an explorer, and another of a butterfly symbolizing growth. A variety of print collateral and signage were made for this event.
